Armed Man Fatally Shot by Law Enforcement at Mar-a-Lago, Secret Service Says

 

In a statement released shortly after the incident, the Secret Service said officers confronted an armed individual near the perimeter of the Palm Beach property, which is owned by former President Donald Trump. Authorities reported that the man displayed a firearm during the encounter, prompting law enforcement personnel to open fire.

Officials said the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. No Secret Service agents or other law enforcement officers were injured during the incident. The agency did not immediately release the identity of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin.

The shooting occurred outside the main entrance of the estate, which has been under heightened security in recent years due to its association with Trump, who has used the property as a private residence and event venue since leaving office.

Palm Beach police and federal authorities responded to the scene, and the investigation has been turned over to the appropriate agencies, as is standard procedure in officer-involved shootings. The Secret Service said it is cooperating fully with local law enforcement as the circumstances surrounding the confrontation are reviewed.
